Cyrus’s 2009 world tour was technically global, but considering it only hit the U.S., the U.K. and Ireland, this will be the first truly international tour for the onetime Disney Channel star.
It kicks off in Ecuador on April 29 and hits Peru on May 1, but after that, it looks like Miley is open to suggestions. “Where should I go next?” she wrote on her official Facebook page. “More tour dates will be announced soon!” (Take our poll after the jump.)
In the year since she released her third album Can’t Be Tamed, it seems the public has been less interested in her music than her PG-rated coming-of-age scandals. Sure, her music still sells well, but more people were talking about her sort-of girl-on-girl kiss and her admitted indulgence in a legal hallucinogen than any of the songs off her last record. (Note: “Party in the U.S.A.” came out on a prior EP.)
So one wonders: Is her music career the best thing for the teen superstar to focus on right now? Cyrus herself didn’t seem to think so a year ago. After releasing Tamed, Miley said she was planning on directing her efforts toward her film career and was considering hiring an acting coach.
But before we pick apart her choices too much, let’s not forget that she is only 18. If anything, switching career paths every few months is probably the most normal thing in the life of a person whose face helps sell multivitamin gummies.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t vote on where we’d like to see Cyrus in the next few years. Take our poll and sound off below.
