Rapper Lil Wayne has set May 16 as the release date for Tha Carter IV, his much-anticipated first album since his release from an eight-month stint at Rikers Island prison in November, according to MTV.  “Tha Carter IV is done,” Wayne told MTV. “All they need to do is tell Tez [i.e. manager Cortez Bryant] to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on Tha Carter IV and put the album out.”

Lil Wayne’s longtime manager Bryant confirmed the release date. “May 16, believe that,” Wayne said. “It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished… Tha Carter IV will be dropping May 16. If you’re not doing anything, do me.”
