The actress will star in the network’s drama pilot, which plays like a gender twist on the Liam Neeson hit movie Taken: “After her son disappears in Italy while overseas for a summer internship, a worried mom takes it upon herself to travel to Europe and track him down. It soon becomes clear that this isn’t any ordinary woman, but a former CIA agent who will stop at nothing to bring her son home alive.”

The promising-sounding project will contend for a spot on ABC’s fall schedule and is shooting on location in several European cities. Judd’s last regular TV role was back in 1991’s Sisters and she’s best known for roles in films like Heat and Kiss the Girls.
