What if a team of well-dressed men was tasked with ensuring that every person’s life proceeded according to a pre-determined plan? That’s the premise of The Adjustment Bureau, a romantic thriller that’s loosely based on a short story by sci-fi master Philip K. Dick. Matt Damon plays a congressman who attracts the attention of the titular Bureau when he meets a beautiful dancer (Emily Blunt) — a woman he isn’t supposed to be with. Roger Sterling — er, that is, John Slattery — costars as an Adjuster determined to get Damon back on track.
