A court order that barred Chris Brown from contacting or being near ex-girlfriend Rihanna has been lifted, according to Reuters. Under the modified protective order issued Tuesday by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Brown is still prohibited from harassing or annoying Rihanna, but he is now permitted to speak with her. The 21-year-old R&B singer was sentenced to five years probation and community service, and ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence program after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammys. Rihanna’s attorney said that she did not object to the downgrade of the protection order.
