Image Credit: Toby Canham/Getty Images; John Shearer/WireImageLarry King had generally positive statements about Piers Morgan’s first months on air in an interview with London’s Radio 4, but also offered up a piece of advice to the CNN personality: Next time, don’t oversell yourself.

While King admitted that he hadn’t seen much of the show, he was critical of the show’s promotion. “He was going to be dangerous. He was going to be water cooler talk. Wait ’til you see me, I’m different.’ He’s good. He’s not that dangerous,” King said in the interview. “Maybe it’s hard to just step into anything. But if there’s one thing, he may have been oversold.”

As we reported last month, the premiere of Piers Morgan double King’s average, but by Feb. 1, his ratings had slipped to just around King’s average. “He’s certainly not bad. He’s certainly an acceptable host. He asks good questions, maybe he interrupts a little too much at times. I think the public might have trouble adjusting to the British,” King said. “But I think he’s very good — I wouldn’t say this is a bad show.”

What’s your take, PopWatchers? Is Piers Morgan living up to the hype we were promised?
