Home on the range with 'Pioneer Woman' Ree Drummond
The hugely popular blogger talks to us about her new memoir, 'Black Heels to Tractor Wheels'
Ree Drummond — who writes about cooking, homeschooling, and life on her family’s Oklahoma ranch on her hugely popular Pioneer Woman blog — talks to us about her new memoir, Black Heels to Tractor Wheels.
Your book is about meeting, and marrying, your husband (a.k.a. the Marlboro Man). There’s not much in it about food! But you couldn’t resist adding recipes at the end.
I couldn’t help myself!
Last year Columbia Pictures announced it had bought Black Heels as a project for Reese Witherspoon. Have you heard anything more about that?
I believe they hired a screenwriter: Robert Harling, who wrote Steel Magnolias.
Is Reese right for the part?
I’m 5’9”, red-haired, with child-bearing hips, and Reese is a lovely, narrow-hipped, resplendent blonde. We’re twins!
Who should play your husband?
I think it should be Michael Fassbender, the blue-eyed German-Irish actor [from Inglourious Basterds].
How can you blog and tweet so much? You live on a ranch and homeschool your four kids!
I love Twitter. I can weave social networking into the cracks of my life. It’s not War and Peace I’m writing, after all. It’s stream-of- consciousness blog posts.
