Sports Illustrated has a new Swimsuit Issue cover girl. Irina Shayk (née Shaykhlislamova), a 25-year-old beauty from a small town in Russia, was revealed as the magazine’s newest supermodel during last night’s Late Show with David Letterman (though people who worked in Letterman’s midtown Manhattan neighborhood couldn’t help but learn the news a few hours before the show was broadcast.) “There were 10 models there to do the Top 10 List (see below), and nobody knows until the last minute who the cover will be,” Shayk said at the show. “And then I saw it, and I couldn’t believe it.”

Shayk woke up early this morning to join Matt and Meredith this morning on Today (below), brushing aside Lauer’s question about her romantic relationship with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo: “We Russians. We keep secrets.”
