Vampire movies are supposed to be dangerous and strange and sexy — in other words, everything the Harlequin-romance Twilight films are not. If you’re hunting for something a little spicier, then check out the new Blu-ray of Daughters of Darkness (1971, Not Rated, 1 hr., 40 mins.). Set in a ghostly Belgian seaside town, this bloody import is loaded with atmosphere, bared flesh, and a haunting turn by the Dietrich-esque Delphine Seyrig as an ageless countess who hungers for a pair of newlyweds (and their necks).
