That’s right, we’re talking plural. AMC’s next big event drama The Killing* launches this spring and EW has your first look trailer — two of them.

The Killing is from showrunner Veena Sud (Cold Case) and is based on a hugely successful Danish series (whose title is your word for the day: Forbrydelsen). The Killing tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation.

The first video gives a tease of the murder:

And here’s a closer look at Sarah Linden (Big Love‘s Mireille Enos) as the lead homicide detective:

The Killing begins (gotta be a better way to phrase that… ) on Sunday, April 3 at 9 p.m.

*What’s cool about AMC: Most cable networks that get into the original scripted series game start by making crime dramas. AMC began with advertising executives and meth dealers and zombies, found huge success, and is only now getting around to tackling the most popular genre of TV drama programming. So expect something special with this one…
