Former Law & Order regular Jesse Martin has landed a part in Marc Cherry’s ABC pilot Hallelujah.
Martin played Det. Ed Green on the NBC series for nearly a decade, and has now been cast in an ambitious pilot from the creator of Desperate Housewives.
The logline: When the Tennessee town of Hallelujah finds itself being torn apart by forces of good and evil, a stranger arrives to bring justice and peace, and to quite possibly restore the faith in the world that the residents so desperately need. The episodes will be punctuated by songs sung by the gospel choir, which serves as a sort of Greek chorus.
