Farrah Fawcett's red swimsuit on display at Smithsonian. What pop culture-centric exhibits are you dying to see?
Image Credit: Mario Perez/ABC; Everett CollectionSo Farrah Fawcett’s iconic red swimsuit went on display in the Smithsonian today, which would have been her 64th birthday. This is awesome for all sorts of reasons — mainly because it gives me hope that there are swimsuits out there somewhere that manage to not get tangled and destroyed in the dryer just weeks after you buy them. But, also, because nothing quite matches the glee every pop culture addict feels when they recognize some of their favorite TV/movie paraphernalia from mere feet away. It’s the best nostalgia high you could ask for, and the closest you can get to starring in the TV/movie itself. So, PopWatchers, I ask: What pop culture-centric exhibits would you love to see at the Smithsonian?
Clearly, from the photo above, you can tell two things: 1) My choices for dream exhibits, and 2) I went to my prom alone. Yes, my wish list is incredibly nerdy, but you can’t deny how incredible it would feel to see the Hatch’s hieroglyphics, the Phial of Galadriel, or Tom Servo in the flesh. (Of course, due to many on-set bloopers and errors, there have been many versions of Joel and Mike’s puppets, so we’d have to settle for the most recent, intact one. That’s okay, as long as a lock of Arch Hall, Jr.’s hair is included in the exhibit as well.) But I want to know what you’d like to see, fellow pop culture nerds.
