James Cameron joins Twitter. And it's already available in 3-D.
Image Credit: Mark FellmanBREAKING NEWS: Ryan Seacrest just convinced James Cameron to join Twitter. While we all prepare to survive the harmonic convergence of this moment that will inexorably lead to the Internet gaining sentience and becoming Skynet, here are some fun facts we can already glean from the King of the World’s entrée into the universe of social media:
1) There was already someone named @JamesCameron on Twitter (who appears to be a “mobile researcher and events organiser” from the U.K., and whose life is about to get very interesting), so the filmmaker had to settle for the more familial @JimCameron.
2) Cameron had resisted tweeting up until this point because, as he just tweeted, “I’m a long winded blowhard, and they don’t allow enough characters.”
3) Cameron is already following no fewer than 32 people/entities, including (in order of when he selected them): Ryan Seacrest, Jerry Bruckheimer, Harry Knowles, Zoe Saldana, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah, The Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences, Buzz Aldrin, Jessica Alba, Judd Apatow, Tom Arnold, Barack Obama, Ed Begley Jr., Al Gore, Bill Gates, Jon Favreau, Tom Hanks, NASA, and Cirque du Soleil. So, to recap, in James Cameron’s mind, Ryan Seacrest > Oprah > Jessica Alba > Tom Arnold > Barack Obama.
4) You could be reading his tweets in 3-D right now.
The only remaining question: How long it will take for James Cameron’s Twitter feed to become The Most Successful Twitter Feed Of All Time?!
