Most Sundance films, of course, are indie entries searching for a distributor in Park City. But one of the movies that’s using the festival as a launch pad for an imminent theatrical run is Cedar Rapids, Ed Helms’ goofy and quite touching comedy that Fox Searchlight will release next month. Helms is here in Utah with his castmates Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. (Senator Clay Davis from The Wire) as well as director Miguel Arteta (Youth in Revolt). I grabbed the quartet for a few minutes to talk about Helms’ frequent nudity in the film (particularly with Kurtwood Smith, aka the dad from That ’70s Show) and their MIA costar John C. Reilly.
