Paul Weitz (Little Fockers) is producing, writing the screenplay, and directing the film for Focus Features, which tells the story of a young writer’s reunion with his estranged father after crossing paths in a homeless shelter in Boston.

Dano, 26, has something of a history with co-starring against Hollywood heavyweights: he’s held his own with Daniel Day-Lewis (twice!) with 2005’s The Ballad of Jack and Rose and then again with 2007’s There Will Be Blood and will next be seen sharing screen time with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens.
