Who you gonna call (to do your soundtrack)? Zack Hemsey, if you like awesome things. YouTube user Rothje released a trailer today that remixes Ghostbusters with Hemsey’s track from the Inception trailer, and it’s pretty epic.

I’m desperate to watch the movie that this trailer promises — I’ve somehow set aside the fact that I’ve already seen it — and I caught myself gawking at special effects sequences that have worse graphics than most modern cell phone games.

I’m not the only one who’s easily awed by their work. The sountracks from Inception‘s trailer (by Hemsey) and the film itself (by Hans Zimmer) have spawned a dizzying array of web content — parodies, hip-hop remixes, and re-cut trailers. Here, it turns Pixar’s Up into a eerie, mind-bending thriller.

And (500) Days of Summer is transformed from an saccharine indie romance into a chilling portrait of loss and desperation.

And I was never this inexplicably terrified while watching Disney’s Fantasia.

Ghostbusters 3 is reportedly planned for 2012 with Ivan Reitman directing, but the film needs a composer: Hans Zimmer or Zack Hemsey, anyone?

What do you think, PopWatchers?
