Author Dan Brown has taken over screenwriting duties for the film adaptation of The Lost Symbol, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Symbol is the third book in his Da Vinci Code series, and the adaptation would mark Brown’s screenwriting debut. Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) wrote the script for the first two Robert Langdon thrillers, which combined to gross $1.24 billion worldwide.
