Image Credit: Everett CollectionDirector Blake Edwards, who achieved massive success for helming the Pink Panther series starring Peter Sellers, has passed away, his rep confirms. The writer-director, who also brought Victor/Victoria, Breakfast at Tiffany‘s and 10 to the big screen, was 88 years old. Edwards, however, was most revered for his slapstick work, with 1963’s The Pink Panther and its sequels — 1975’s The Return of the Pink Panther, 1976’s The Pink Panther Strikes Again, 1978’s Revenge of the Pink Panther, 1982’s Trail of the Pink Panther, 1983’s Curse of the Pink Panther, and 1993’s Son of the Pink Panther — earning him a place amongst comedy’s greatest directors. He is survived by his wife, Victor/Victoria star Julie Andrews, and children.
