But it sounds like it could be fun.” Ages, set in Los Angeles, follows a young couple whose story is told through ’80s rock hits. Producer Jenno Topping (who is producing both Ages and Country Strong) also confirms to EW that Tom Cruise is “in discussions” for a role in the film. “It’s real,” the producer said. “Although, it is not cemented.”

Rock of Ages is not the only project in contention for Paltrow-the-singer. “[Country Strong co-star Tim McGraw] keeps joking that I should go on the road as his opening act. And I keep saying, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s make it happen.’ I don’t know about a whole tour but maybe a string of nights could be fun,” she says. “I will probably do some more Glee episodes and maybe some more films that involve singing, but I’m not sure I would ever quit my current job and become a full-time singer. I love my day job and we already have a musician in the family.”(Reporting by Carrie Bell)
