Image Credit: CBSCBS announced today that it has renewed The Young and the Restless through the 2013-14 season. The sudser that’s produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Co. and Sony has been the most-watched daytime drama for nearly 22 years. So far this season, it is first in viewers (5.15 million), as well as women 18-49 and women 25-54.

“The Young and the Restless has been the No. 1 daytime drama on television for more than two decades, as well as an enduring symbol of CBS’s success in the daypart,” said CBS’ Barbara Bloom, senior vice president of daytime, in a statement. “Our audience’s beloved characters in Genoa City will continue to flourish under the leadership of Head Writer and Executive Producer Maria Bell and the wonderful storytelling ahead.”
