Have you ever been embarrassed, miserable, or disgustingly happy at a high school dance? Do you enjoy secretly DVR-ing High School Musical, even though you tell everyone you don’t understand the appeal of “Breaking Free”? (Which you totally do.) Are you a child, adult, or an in-between? Well, then chances are you’ll love Disney’s latest sure-to-be-tween-sensation Prom, which hits theaters April 29, 2011. Based on the trailer for the film — starring Friday Night Lights‘ Aimee Teegarden and Thomas McDonell, looking very Heath Ledger-in-10ThingsIHateAboutYouit has everything: Romance! Fighting! Disco balls! Fire! (Wait, is this Carrie?!) A frightening sense of importance placed on a very not-important-in-the-scheme-of-things event! (“It’s not about a dance. It’s about who you are and who you’re going to be.” Pressure!) And a great line: “Ah prom. It’s like the Olympics of high school. You wait four years, three people have a good time, and everybody else gets to live on with shattered dreams.” Click the jump, and let us know if you think Prom will be a dream come true.
