Lil Wayne moved to solitary confinement at Rikers Island
Lil Wayne was relocated today to a “punitive segregation” cell at Rikers Island, where he is currently serving a one-year sentence for a weapons conviction, according to multiple outlets. The 28-year-old Grammy-winning rapper received this punishment—which is the equivalent of solitary confinement and requires him to be in his cell 23 hours a day—after guards discovered headphones and a charger for a MP3 player in his cell back in May. A representative for Lil Wayne did not immediately respond to EW.com’s request for comment. Lil Wayne is scheduled to be released on Nov. 4.
