The In Plain Sight hunk has been tapped to play the potentially recurring role of Eric Rodriguez, a self-possessed, confident, wickedly funny and—just guessing here—fairly attractive new doctor.

De la Fuente—who earned a bronze medal in the sixth season of Dancing With the Stars—will make his first appearance in late October/early November.

There’s no word on whose heart McCaliente will send racing, but the initial character breakdown may contain a clue: Private producers noted that prospective candidates must be 5’11”. In possibly related news, Kate Walsh is the show’s tallest female cast member at 5’9″.
