The star of the upcoming ''Country Strong'' tells us what she's listening to

The actress (and wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) stars as a faded country singer in the December film Country Strong. Not surprisingly, she really knows music. Here’s a taste of what she’s been listening to.

Mumford & Sons Sigh No More ”My God, they are so good. I think Markus Dravs is an incredible producer. He does Arcade Fire, too. It’s this rawness, this emotion.”

Hole ”Skinny Little Bitch” ”I’m a Courtney Love fanatic. There are a couple of songs I really love. I’m interested in what she’s doing, and what she’s saying.”

The XX XX ”It reminds me of being a teenager in the ’90s in New York. It’s kind of like the Cure, but gentler. Kind of New Order-y, but much more restrained.”

Jim Lauderdale The Bluegrass Diaries ”Love. Obsess. Especially this song called ‘Can We Find Forgiveness.’ I went to hear his band play in Nashville, and no one could speak. The musicianship was so out of control.”

Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow ”Me and Tennessee ”I just got this mix of a song that Tim and I sing for the end credits of Country Strong. It’s crazy. I don’t know [how much] I’ll be listening to it, because I make myself barf, but…”
