Want a break from those dense mythological dramas? Look no further than the man who gave you three of them: J.J. Abrams. ”The goal is to do a show about a married couple who deal with the most familiar problems, but against a backdrop of wish fulfillment, adventure, and world traveling,” says Alias/Lost/Fringe mastermind Abrams, who, along with Josh Reims (Brothers & Sisters), created this romantic action dramedy about husband-and-wife caterers Steven and Samantha (Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw) returning to their old jobs as superspies. ”Hart to Hart is in no way a bad model.” And expect some good character drama along the way. ”Part of the fun is they don’t know each other’s histories as spies, so every week they discover more about each other, and some things they don’t like,” notes Abrams. ”But it doesn’t change the fact that they’re committed to each other.” SEPT. 22
