This feel-good reality series will be undergoing its own makeover in season 8. ”We want to make sure it stays unpredictable,” says exec producer Brady Connell. No longer will host Ty Pennington arrive at a family’s home to announce that they’ve been selected. Instead, he will surprise the families when they least expect it — say, at a Yankees game. ”Ty ran out onto the field and yelled, ‘Good morning, Lutz family!”’ says Connell. ”They had no idea — it was really something.” The show will also be expanding its definition of ”home” to include schools, group homes, and community organizations such as Boys Hope Girls Hope Baltimore. But one addition from last season will remain: celebrity guest stars. Confirmed so far are Cedric the Entertainer, Shaquille O’Neal, Raven-Symoné, and Kristin Chenoweth, the last of whom will perform a Broadway number during a demolition. Sounds like a blast. SEPT. 26
