STARRING George Clooney, Thekla Reuten, Violante Placido
WRITTEN BY Rowan Joffe
DIRECTED BY Anton Corbijn

Despite its title, this suspense thriller about an assassin (George Clooney) who hides out in the Italian countryside and falls in love with a local woman (Violante Placido) is actually ”incredibly European,” says famed photographer-turned-director Anton Corbijn (Control). ”George Clooney and the title are really the only American things in it.” Clooney’s brooding killer is nothing like the charming smoothies he’s portrayed in films like Oceans 11 and Out of Sight. ”George plays the darkest character I’ve ever seen him play,” Corbin says, ”and wonderfully so.”
