Internet produces third 2010 Emmy nomination for Neil Patrick Harris out of thin air
Image Credit: Gary Hershorn/Reuters/LandovAfter much pestering from bloggers fighting the good fight at the L.A. Times, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has agreed to give Neil Patrick Harris one more Emmy nomination — for hosting the Tonys last year. He sang and danced, and we laughed and laughed, and yet somehow his name was inexplicably missing from the list of people collectively nominated for CBS’ 2009 Tonys telecast.
Harris is already up for best supporting actor in a comedy series for How I Met Your Mother and guest actor in a comedy series for Glee. The world is a mess, and he just needs to rule it.
This is great news for NPH but an even greater feat for the internet. Quick! What else can we get NPH nominated for? I say every time a character in any TV show name-drops “Doogie Howser,” Neil Patrick Harris should get an Emmy. Or at least a unicorn should get its wings. Actually, NPH, I’m sure that happens already.
