EW catches up with the ”Hero” singer, 35, who’s back on top of the charts with the summer anthem ”I Like It,” from his album Euphoria (and the Jersey Shore soundtrack).

On the success of ”I Like It”
It feels great. In the music world, you’re only as good as your last hit. Unfortunately, I’ve learned that throughout the years. It’s not the deepest of songs. It’s just fun.

On meeting the Jersey Shore cast
To be honest, I didn’t really know a lot about Jersey Shore. Then I started doing my research. It’s one of those shows where you see it and then you get hooked. Once I met the cast, they were extremely nice. They were very professional. You truly never know someone by what you see on TV.

On making out with a female fan during a July 16 performance on the Today show
I didn’t ”make out”! It was just a quick kiss. [Iglesias and longtime girlfriend Anna Kournikova are still together.] I love my fans. I’m so lucky. I have loyal fans who have stuck with me whether I had hits or not — and that I truly, truly appreciate.

On his new album, Euphoria
For me, my focus is to write good, catchy songs that I would listen to. It’s been a process of three years. It’s definitely more eclectic than anything I’ve done before.

On betting he’d water-ski naked if Spain won the World Cup — which, of course, they did
Yeah, I’ve said it before: A bet’s a bet. What’s the big deal about skiing naked at night? It’s not so much the nakedness [I worry about], it’s the falling in the water. It’s scary falling in the water at night when it’s completely dark. And yeah, it can hurt — especially the spread eagle.
