Jason Reitman to re-team with Diablo Cody? How are we feeling about a 'Juno' reunion?
- TV Show
Image Credit: George Pimentel/WireImage.comOscar-nominated director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) is in talks to direct a script penned by his Juno partner, Oscar-winner Diablo Cody. According to the Hollywood Reporter, willowy Oscar winner Charlize Theron is also in talks to star in the dark comedy, Young Adult, which reportedly centers around a 30-something, newly singly YA author who returns to her hometown Minneapolis and pines after her ex, now a married family man. (And for the love of…let the story actually allow that Theron’s character is beautiful. She need not always be mousified, even if she is playing a writer.)
Reitman and Cody have joined forces before, to memorable effect. The haters can snark over the zingy dialogue all they want. This moviegoer and adoptive parent thinks Juno was lovely and funny and surprising. And that scene of Jennifer Garner coming home to find a stunned Ellen Page and quaking Jason Bateman just up from the basement was a beaut. The YA team is looking to begin production mid-October.
Speaking of Jason Bateman, who makes my heart swell, he stopped by Cody’s Airstream trailer recently to have a little chat, including scoop on the Arrested Development movie. “Look at your f%#!ing notes cheater, go ahead.” Enjoy.
What do you think PopWatchers? Ready to see Theron in a comedy? Juno, love or hate? Who should play the ex-boyfriend in YA? (What about Colin Farell? Hey, I love the guy!)
