MTV renews 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger' for second season: Is Justin Bieber responsible?
Image Credit: Jamie Cary/MTV;Pamela LittkeyAs first reported by TV Guide, MTV has renewed their raunchy scripted comedy The Hard Times of RJ Berger for a second season. (That’s an additional 12 episodes.) Ratings for the series have grown 31 percent in the last four weeks in the show’s target demo of viewers 12-34. Potentially helping this boost in viewership? None other than floppy-haired pop star Justin Bieber. On July 19th, Bieber tweeted that he had just met the creators and that he found the show “funny.” That evening’s episode of Berger grew 9 percent in ratings. Coincidence? Probably not, given Bieber’s fervent fan base. But Biebs isn’t taking any credit: A rep for Bieber tells EW the singer is, “Happy he could help good people…if he helped at all.” The season finale of The Hard Times of RJ Berger airs Aug. 23 on MTV.
Do you think the power of the Biebs is responsible for Berger’s second season, PopWatchers? What show do you wish he could also plug to help it get better ratings? Are you a fan of the MTV series?
