Zac Efron: My Favorite Movies
The ''High School Musical'' star loves ''The Goonies'' and ''The Truman Show''
The 22-year-old star of Charlie St. Cloud (out July 30) shares his list of the movies he loves most.
1. The Goonies (1985)
”I wanted to watch 3 Ninjas again, but my dad was like, ‘No, you gotta watch this.’ I’ve probably seen it 20 times, at least.”
2. Shine (1996)
”I love Geoffrey Rush’s performance. I played piano, so I could understand what he was trying to do, controlling melodies with a different side of his brain.”
3. The Truman Show (1998)
”Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors. He just goes for everything, balls to the wall. After this movie, I always look over my shoulder to see if this is really happening or if it’s all for some weird documentary.”
4. Control (2007)
”I was sort of a Joy Division fan, but after this movie, I downloaded all their songs. I felt like I was living with the band.”
5. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1999)
”I saw it right when it came out, and there was a lot in there that I shouldn’t have seen at that age. It just blew my mind.”
