Paige (Drop Dead Diva‘s Deb, Brooke D’Orsay) needed to send her wealthy parents photos of her and her boyfriend and didn’t think they’d respond well to her much older real beau (Peter Strauss). Cue Evan’s Pretty Woman-style makeover and him actually falling for her. I thought the writers could’ve taken the Pretty Woman references one-step further and have him leave the cash on his car seat when she dropped him off, but that would’ve revealed his feelings too soon. Now that her parents want to meet Evan in-person — apparently for a hunting trip, pictured, in the Aug. 5 episode — the writers can have Paige unknowingly torture Evan more with pretend scenarios. With Paige’s boyfriend out of the picture (he didn’t appreciate being a secret), what reason do you think the show will give for ultimately tearing these two apart? Or will they? USA confirms D’Orsay will be in at least seven episodes this season.

As for the rest of the episode, I like Hank sexy, flirty, and tension-filled, so that love triangle between he, Emily, and Jill is developing nicely. Curious to see if they can make us like Emily. Hank putting a needle into the eye of Paige’s older boyfriend to save the photographer from going blind during an ocular stroke was both MacGyver-cool and totally wince-worthy. (Did you know Henry Winkler, who’s been guesting this season as the boys’ father was an exec producer on MacGyver?) We all assume the man Divya’s supposed to find love with his Evan, right? And did anyone else think of that awesome Cougar Town moment when Andy (Ian Gomez) got the “full Shawshank experience” when guest star Gomez fell into the pool? Love him, but I wish he’d had funnier material last night. (Evan got the best line: “Move that van! Move that van!”)
