Their show isn't on until fall, but Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw already have us buzzing

We have a mission we think you’ll choose to accept: keeping a close eye on those two dangerous hotties to your left. On J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated action drama Undercovers — which debuts this fall on NBC — Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw star as married retired spies who run a catering business, only to wind up moonlighting in their old high-octane jobs when the government comes calling. (You’ve most certainly seen the promos; you can also check out preview clips of the show — and behind-the-scenes footage — on Samantha excels at cooking, ”sexpionage,” and foreign languages; Steven rocks the finances, explosives, and martial arts; and we go along for the ride. ”For one hour, you get to travel with us to exotic locales, kick some butt, and make some meals,” says the Germany-raised Kodjoe, 37, formerly of Showtime’s Soul Food. ”It’s like WWE/Top Chef. We’re creating our own genre.” Mbatha-Raw, 27, an English actress whose credits include Doctor Who and MI-5, is already savoring the prospect of one Mr. & Mrs. Smith-style showdown: ”I think it would be quite funny to see us take on each other in the kitchen. There’s plenty of utensils and interesting found objects: an espresso machine, pots and pans…”
