SyFy asking viewers to help create next movie. Frankenfish says AWESOME.
We’ve seen Dinoshark. Mansquito. Mongolian Death Worm. Next up: Mongolian Mansdinosharkworm? Maybe. It’s up to you loyal SyFy fans. According to the Hollywood Reporter, SyFy will ask fans online to help create a Saturday night telefilm for the network via B Movie Mogul, a production site that will allow viewers to “vote and pitch ideas for the film, from title, creatures, wardrobe, dialogue, and character deaths to promotional taglines.”
Anyone who’s a SyFy movie fan doesn’t need me to tell them how awesome this is. In fact, this news makes me so giddy, I feel like juggling some Mega Piranha. (For visual, see: picture above.) So many decisions! So many ideas involving deadly hybrid animals! Do we want to see a Poison Buffafrog? A Crocojellyfish? Or a Spider-Cobra?! TOO MANY CHOICES! ACK — IDEA OVERLOAD!!!
Of course, SyFy can’t guarantee a “creature feature” yet — fans have to decide between “a 2010 apocalypse story, a Bermuda Triangle-set creature feature, or a Roswell, N.M.-set alien movie” that will air next year. But go ahead and try to convince me that “Bermuda Triangle-set creature feature” isn’t going to win this by a landslide. This is like Johnson v. Goldwater here!
All I know is this better star Paul Logan and a random 1980s teen star (Tina Yothers or Soliel Moon Frye will do just fine, thanks), or I’ll have to get Sharktopus involved. And you don’t want to make this one angry, folks.
