To get the month-long party started, the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, and Shakira — who sang this year’s World Cup anthem, “Waka, Waka” — took to the stage in Soweto, Johannesburg for an inaugural concert. Also hitting the stage was the Somalian-Canadian triple threat, poet-singer-rapper K’naan.
