I only started watching So You Think You Can Dance last season, so I still find a table of judges sobbing during a contestant’s critique or cheering unabashedly during an audition fascinating. It occurred to me the ninth time I rewound 18-year-old Lauren Froderman’s solo to “At Last” that I was loving the panel’s reaction as much as her performance, which perfectly captured the joy and sweet sensuality of that song. View it below. Choreographer Tyce Diorio — looking around like are you seeing what I’m seeing?, screaming “Ohhhhh!,” and watching the final seconds of the tease with his mouth open = fantastic. It makes you understand in under two minutes why watching real people who can dance is more fulfilling than watching celebrities try to dance. (Though I do that, too.) How many times did you rewind Froderman’s solo? For more SYTYCD, read Kate Ward’s recap of last night’s episode.

Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and the viewers at home crown America’s Favorite Dancer.
