  • In a press release, the producers of Broadway’s Evita announced Ricky Martin and Elena Roger will star in a 2012 production of the show. (Martin will also be presenting at this year’s Tony Awards, according to a CBS rep.) Roger will play the title role, while Martin will play Ché. Does this mean William Hung will play the role Off-Broadway?
  • Snatch star Vinnie Jones will be a series regular on NBC’s The Cape, starring as Scales, “a frightening man with a freakish skin condition that gives him the appearance of green and gold scales.” Will Kanye West be cast as a romantic interest? [THR]
  • Agora‘s Max Minghella — son of Anthony Minghella — has been tapped to star alongside Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby in The Darkest Hour, which follows a group of kids who must survive in Russia following an alien invasion. Funny, I thought this was the darkest hour. [Variety]
  • In other famous offspring  news, Lorraine Nicholson — daughter of Jack Nicholson — Lee Majors, and Bruce Dern are the latest to join the indie adaptation of TV series The Big Valley, which also stars Jessica Lange and Stephen Moyer. [Variety]
  • Disney announced in a press release that Tooth Fairy director Michael Lembeck will helm High School Musical spin-off, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, starring Ashley Tisdale, Life Unexpected‘s Austin Butler, and Good Luck Charlie‘s Steven Perry.
  • In a press release, USA confirmed they have picked up buddy cop comedy Common Law, which follows two LAPD cops — a former lawyer and a ladies man — who are sent to couples therapy to work on their professional relationship. Yes, but who will greenlight buddy cop comedy Miles & Ford?
