They say Renner would play Hawkeye, a villain turned Avenger, alongside heroes like Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

A comic-book flick might seem like a big jump from The Hurt Locker, the drama that introduced Renner to a wider audience last year. Is it really, though? Hurt Locker showed that Renner can play a complicated character facing the threat of violence around every corner. If one of Marvel’s band of superheroes reminded viewers of a guy from the bomb squad in Iraq, that might actually be a pretty good fit. What do you think? Is Renner a good fit for The Avengers?
