Image Credit: Barry Brecheisen/WireImage.comAdult film star Sasha Grey, who got her mainstream break as the lead in Steven Soderbergh’s 2009 film, The Girlfriend Experience, will have a recurring role on the upcoming season of Entourage. According to TV Guide, she’ll play herself and meet Vince (Adrian Grenier) in a bar and become his longterm girlfriend.

“Sasha’s the biggest porn star in the world right now, and when Soderbergh casts her as the lead of his movie, I take notice,” Entourage creator Doug Ellin said. He added that he wouldn’t have pursued the plot point, inspired by Charlie Sheen’s relationship with porn actress Ginger Lynn in the late ’90s, if she’d turned down the role. Also, that the male castmembers of the HBO series gave him their unanimous approval. Shocking!

The first question I had was, can she act? Well, EW’s Owen Gleiberman gave The Girlfriend Experience an A. He described Grey as “not so much a natural actress as a natural-born placid, affectless Barbie doll (imagine Eliot Spitzer consort Ashley Dupré with a touch of Demi Moore).” So, you know, if that’s what you’re going for — and I suspect on Entourage it is — well done. After the jump, watch a clip of Sasha choosing her five favorite films (she does defy expectations while showing more personality than she did during her Tyra interview) and the SFW trailer for the adult film This Ain’t Star Trek XXX. A welcome addition to Entourage?
