Image Credit: FoxHere’s some good Glee news that doesn’t involve A-list casting coups or top-shelf catalog acquisitions: Sources confirm to me exclusively that the show’s producers intend to upgrade Naya Rivera and Heather Morris, who play BFFs with benefits Santana and Brittany, to full-fledged series regulars.

Although a show spokesperson declined to comment, I’m told the duo’s likely promotion would kick in next season.

Earlier this month, Morris made no secret of her desire to go full-time on Glee. “I am technically not a series regular, but I’m climbing the ladder,” Morris told us. “Maybe in season 2.”

Are you happy Glee execs are planning to do right by their secret weapons? Could a spin-off be far behind? Hit the comments! (Additional reporting by Carrie Bell)
