Image Credit: Pixar/DisneyYesterday, new Disney honcho Rich Ross announced that a Monsters, Inc. sequel would hit theaters on Nov. 16, 2012. It’s only the third Pixar film to go the franchise route, after Toy Story and Cars (coming in 2011). If you had to pick one other Pixar film to get a sequel, which would it be? Poll below! (The emotional achievements of Up and WALL-E make them perfect, singular pieces of filmmaking — I want them to remain that special. While I loved Finding Nemo and The Incredibles almost as much, I could entertain them. I think The Incredibles makes the most sense because you could have explore the angst of teen superheroes (familiar) with a Pixar sensibility (which makes it fresh).

Meanwhile, what’s your best guess at the plot of Monsters, Inc. 2? Is it possible that in today’s world, children are no longer producing enough laughter to power the city of Monstropolis? That would be sad wouldn’t it?
