Daniel-Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe will make his Broadway musical debut starring as J. Pierrepont Finch in a revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying set to bow in Spring 2011. The role, originated by Robert Morse in 1961 and resurrected by Matthew Broderick in 1995, is that of a young window-cleaner who undergoes a meteoric rise from the mail-room to Vice President of Advertising at the World-Wide Wicket Company. His “unorthodox and morally-questionable business practices” threaten both his career and his romance with Secretary Rosemary Pilkington (a part that has not yet been cast). Radcliffe made his Broadway debut in the play Equus in 2008, following a run in London’s West End. How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying will be directed and choreographed by Tony winner Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie).

What do you say? I think Broadway is never a bad idea for a brave actor looking to stretch, as Radcliffe will be after finishing filming the final installment of Harry Potter. This will definitely be a new challenge — one that the singing clip embedded after the jump proves he’s up for…
