Image Credit: Bob Charlotte/PR PhotosMan, the vampire craze is really digging deep. Anton Yelchin, best known for playing Walter Koenig’s character in Star Trek and Michael Biehn’s character in Terminator Salvation, will next be playing William Ragsdale’s character in a remake of the 1985 kinda-classic Fright Night, The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog reports.

The original was a pretty good combination of scares and laughs, about a young suburban kid who suspects his new next-door neighbor may be a vampire. As I remember it, the protagonist was relatively unremarkable, so the real questions for this remake will be who’s replacing Chris Sarandon as the bloodsucker whose powers include dance-floor seduction, and who’ll be taking up Roddy McDowell’s role as a late-night-TV host/fearless vampire killer.

Anyone love the original and is excited for the remake? Is there anyone other than me hoping for Hollywood to revisit Love at First Bite?
