First job
”I worked in Baskin-Robbins as an ice-cream scooper. I think I was 12 or 13. My right hand got much stronger than my left. It was horrifying.”

First celebrity crush
”Jack Tripper from Three’s Company. We were banned from watching that show, because it was two women living with one man. So of course I’d sneak-watch it. I just thought he was so funny and goofy, and I guess that equaled hot to me.”

First kiss
”This guy that I had a huge crush on invited me to see Return of the Jedi. I was, like, 15, and very awkward. He walked me home, and then he kissed me. I didn’t know what French kissing was. I remember [thinking], ‘Oh my God! It’s so disgusting!”’

First audition
”There was an open call for Miss Saigon. I sang that song from A Chorus Line: ‘Dance: Ten; Looks: Three.’ It was so horrible! I couldn’t hit a note. But it didn’t matter. I had no concept of humiliation at that point.”

First Big Movie
”It was Payback [1999]. Mel Gibson was so nice to everyone all the time. He taught me how to play poker with M&M’s, and we played chess. He’s a great guy.”
