Long-time friends Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson are finally pairing up for a movie. Too bad we’ll only be hearing their voices. The duo will play animated turkeys, Reggie and Brock, who discover a time machine and travel back to the first Thanksgiving to take themselves off the menu. Luke Wilson will also voice one of the turkeys. The movie, already in pre-production for new family film company Bedrock Studios, is being directed by Ash Brannon (Toy Story 2 and Surf’s Up). Peter Farrelly is executive producing the movie. “I flipped out about the concept for Turkeys and started yapping about the possibilities,” said Farrelly. “I guess I kind of glommed on.”

Turkeys is the first project for Bedrock Studios, a newly formed company Walden Media executive Cary Granat and former ILM executive Ed Jones started to create family films in the under-$35 million range. The aspirations for the company stem beyond movies to TV, publishing, and digital media. The studio has also acquired the rights and is actively developing children’s novels Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O’Brien, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, and Dinosaur Bob by William Joyce.
