Actor Danny Glover is calling for a boycott of Hugo Boss clothing at this Sunday’s Academy Awards after the German fashion house announced plans to close a factory in Cleveland, Ohio, that will leave 300 workers jobless, according to The Wrap. The designer is a red carpet mainstay, dressing stars such as Jeff Bridges, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Paul Giamatti, in recent years. Glover sent a letter to nominees and presenters, telling them that the factory—and thus, the jobs—could have easily been saved. “Hugo Boss says it wants to expand business in this country, and the brand depends on Hollywood cachet,” Glover wrote. “Please tell the world you won’t be wearing Hugo Boss on March 7.”
