If we can’t see a shirtless Stefan or Damon until March 25, the least we can do is talk about them with the show’s costume designer, Jennifer Bryan. She’s agreed to answer your questions, too, so if you’ve got ’em, post ’em before 3 p.m. ET Thursday. Perhaps you’ll want to know her inspiration for a particular character or look. Me, I’m most curious about the mechanics: Do the scripts detail the level of heavage we’re so often treated to, or is that something she and the actors feel out on their own? When a scene requires Paul Wesley to walk into a room while putting on his shirt, how many shirts will he (or his stand-in?) try on before finding the one that falls down his six-pack slowly? She’s also worked on NBC’s Las Vegas and Fox’s Dark Angel, are the standards for dressing women different at the networks? How far can you push it on a CW show about vampires? Does she ever wish Stefan gave Elena a vervain bracelet instead of a necklace?
