Lindsey Vonn to guest on 'Law & Order': Which athletes have post-Olympics careers in pop culture?
Image Credit: Paul Drinkwater/NBCWhile we’re waiting to see if Evan Lysacek celebrates his Olympic gold medal by joining Dancing With the Stars (the new cast is announced tonight), we already know how alpine skier Lindsey Vonn will celebrate hers: In addition to being a guest on The Tonight Show this evening, she’s set to make an appearance as a jury foreman on an upcoming episode of her favorite TV show, Law & Order. A rep for Vonn tells us she hasn’t seen a date yet for when she’ll film the guest spot — Vonn is also booked in Europe for several more weeks of World Cup racing — but she did get a chance to run her lines with Bob Costas, who gave her the casting news during an interview over the weekend. Note: It won’t be Vonn’s first meet-and-greet with the Law & Order crew. She visited the set last October just for fun.
Which Olympians do you see having a career outside their sport? We’re big fans of ladies’ moguls champ Hannah Kearney, who charmed her way through both a post-race interview and a sitdown with Costas as the USA’s first gold medalist in Vancouver. She plans to finish the World Cup season with events in Sweden and Spain, but outside of skiing, she tells EW she’s interested in furthering her education, which may result in a degree in either economics or broadcasting. (“Watch out Bob Costas,” she jokes. We think she’d make a great commentator.) Who would you like to see more of off the slopes or ice? (We’re still pushing for that Johnny Weir figure skating tell-all.)
