Colin Firth (a current best actor Oscar nominee for A Single Man) and Matthew Macfadyen (Frost/Nixon) have joined the political crime thriller The Promised Land, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, about the lead up to the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel, stars Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) and will be directed by Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart). Both Firth and Macfadyen have previously played Mr. Darcy in different adaptations of Pride and Prejudice.
